Core Network Network issues with Optus Queensland and some limited international traffic

Update: Issue has been resolved by Optus.

This notice is to inform you of an unscheduled outage, which may cause some disruption to your service with Conetix.

Scope of Issue

Conetix is aware of a network disruption for Optus customers across Queensland as well as some limited international traffic. If you are an Optus customer in Queensland (or via an Optus reseller), this means you'll have trouble with all Internet services (not just services with Conetix). We recommend contacting Optus directly to confirm the issue.

As some international traffic (eg, some USA traffic) also uses the Optus network, access from overseas locations may also be impacted. This may also affect any uptime monitors where they have US based reporting only.

Updates

  • 13:05 As we haven't received a confirmation of the issue, we currently have no ETA from Optus as to when they'll have the issue resolved. Conetix will continue to monitor the situation until it's resolved, however we recommend Optus customers contact Optus directly for a resolution.
  • 15:40 Optus have resolved the issue.

Upstream network emergency maintenance

This notice is to inform you of a scheduled maintenance event, which may cause some disruption to your service with Conetix.

Scope of Works

During this time, access to your email, website and other services with Conetix may be unavailable for a short period. All services will resume smoothly once connectivity is returned. We expect that there may be some additional delays of up to 1 hour for an emails to be re-delivered but do not expect any mail loss.

Any services such as offsite backups or data replication may also fail if scheduled during this time but should either auto-resume or complete successfully upon next run.

  • 10/11/2020 23:11 - Further network upgrades are being conducted, please wait for these to be complete.
  • 10/11/2020 23:15 - Services have returned again. Conetix will continue to monitor before confirming maintenance is complete.
  • 10/11/2020 23:40 - No further changes or degraded services have been observed. Maintenance is complete.
