Unscheduled Outage - Windows Hosting (Repeat)

This notice is to inform you of an unscheduled outage, which may be causing some disruption to your service with Conetix.

Scope of Issue

Conetix is aware of a service disruption affecting Windows Hosting environments. This is an unfortunate repeat of the indecent yesterday. Each system had been restored and Windows updates disabled, however they appear to have force installed regardless. We understand the frustration this has caused and working 24/7 to fully resolve.

The Conetix team has begun the restoration process again.

  • 05:00 - 15/09/23 - Issue reported and being investigated
  • 06:40 - 15/09/23 - Restoration of services is progressing. Approximately 15% of Windows services are back.
  • 07:50 - 15/09/23 - Restoration of services is progressing. Approximately 30% of Windows services are back.
  • 08:55 - 15/09/23 - Restoration of services is progressing. Approximately 50% of Windows services are back.
  • 10:05 - 15/09/23 - Restoration of services is mostly complete with 90% Windows services are back.
  • 11:40 - 15/09/23 - Restoration of services is now complete. We are transitioning to further preventative measures.
  • 12:05 - 15/09/23 - Two other servers were identified with faults and restoring. ETA for these is less than 20 minutes.
  • 13:30 - 15/09/23 - All services have been restored. Future mitigation efforts continue to prevent further issues.

Shared Hosting Services Unscheduled Outage - Windows Hosting

This notice is to inform you of an unscheduled outage, which may be causing some disruption to your service with Conetix.

Scope of Issue

Conetix is aware of a service disruption affecting Windows Hosting environments and currently have engineers working to resolve the issue. All services related to this hosting will currently be unavailable. The issue is due to a bad Windows update, which has rolled out to a number of instances.

Updates and Status

  • 06:00 - 14/09/23 - Issue reported and being investigated
  • 07:30 - 14/09/23 - A bad Windows update has caused issues with a small number of servers, a fix is currently being investigated. No ETA yet
  • **08:00 - 14/09/23 - Restoration from backup has started as this is the most viable recovery method. Some instances will start to come back online shortly. We estimate the full time for 100% of services to be 2-4 hours.
  • **08:57 - 14/09/23 - Restorations are continuing and approximately 20% of the affected systems are already back online.
  • **10:00 - 14/09/23 - Restorations are continuing. Over 50% of systems are now back online.
  • **11:00 - 14/09/23 - Restorations are continuing. Over 75% of systems are now back online.
  • **12:05 - 14/09/23 - We have restored 95% of all servers and the last few remain. We estimate these will be back online in the next 20-60 minutes.
  • **12:25 - 14/09/23 - Restoration 100% complete.
